Abstract

This study explores the experiences of narcotics users undergoing outpatient rehabilitation at the Kenambai Umbai Clinic of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in Jayapura Regency using a qualitative approach. The findings reveal that recovery is a complex, multidimensional process involving internal struggles, changes in mindset, family support—particularly from mothers—and challenges due to social stigma. Stigma remains a major barrier, affecting both psychological well-being and access to services post-rehabilitation. Future studies should involve more diverse participants and settings to gain a broader understanding of the rehabilitation experience.
